GONE FISHING

For those of you who like to spend your weekends chasing that elusive fish, steer clear of the Anglesea river for a while.

Around 150 concerned residents attended a public meeting last week voicing their concerns at the state of the Anglesea River.

Experts have been engaged to investigate the feasibility of the Surf Coast Shire carrying out a deeper estuary opening to address the impacts of the extended period of low pH in the estuary.

Thousands of fish have died recently with the river critically ill with tests done by Fisheries Victoria showing just a handful of fish alive.
