Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

Welcome to Aireys Inlet

The Surf Coast Shire is proposing to increase rates for what it classes as ‘commercial holiday homes’.  The shire scoured holiday accommodation websites to identify the properties for this draft budget.

The budget was released for public comment on Tuesday night, with councillors hailing the ‘modest’ average rate rise of 4.75% as their lowest hike in at least a decade.

Although property valuations will affect individual bills, the shire forecasts the rates on a standard home will rise 3.72%.

Members of the Surf Coast Community now have until May 28 to give feedback to the shire on the draft budget, and four meetings have been planned to help explain it.

Despite the time of the year there are some great listings about to come onto the market including:

A three bedroom brick house in River Reserve Road on the banks of the Painkalac River.  A vacant allotment next door will also be offered for sale.

A recently built modern home on 1000m2 in Nancy Street.
