Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

Welcome to Aireys Inlet

We were blessed with some great weather this week along the Great Ocean Road. Tuesday especially was an absolutely stunning day, and here’s hoping for similar weather on Saturday for the big game between the Hawks and the Swans.

Sales activity continues and demand remains strong. This is perfectly illustrated by the sale earlier this week of 11 Hartley Street. After around two months on the market, the property was sold well above the asking price of $660,000 due to competition from multiple parties.  More than ever before we are seeking properties for our extensive database of genuine buyers looking to purchase in the area. In fact the sale is the fourth house (as well as a vacant block) that we have sold in Hartley Street in the past eight weeks. Two of these were off market sales.

Interesting news from the Surf Coast Shire’s Economic Snapshot which shows the median house prices for the Surf Coast Shire, from 2007 to 2013.  For the first time in that period the median house price in Aireys Inlet (Aireys Inlet, Fairhaven, Moggs Creek and Eastern View) has eclipsed that of Lorne’s. This may come as a surprise to some however it is a trend that has been evident for a while.
