Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

The Bells Beach surfing event is well underway although the much hyped ’50 year swell event’ hasn’t yet transpired.

There is a strong swell running at the moment, but nothing quite like what was forecast.  Perhaps a little Fake News being created by the contest organisers to try and generate more interest in the event?

So it’s on. The federal election has been called and May 18 we will all head to the polls. Buckle down for the real campaigning to begin.

Locally, works on the Moggs Creek bridge are about to commence with an increase in activity in the area recently. The current bridge built in 1956 is at the end of its design life and needs to be replaced. Expect to see plenty going … Continue Reading »

The campaigning for the federal election is off and running and I read with interest this morning about how unpopular the two men applying for the nations top job are.  It’s interesting to see whether voters vote for the leader, the party or the policies?  I guess it’s a combination of all these three things and some others no doubt.
