Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

Spring may be only a couple of weeks away but it sure doesn’t feel like it today.  After a wet and windy night, Melbourne is heading for a top temperature of only 11 degrees and much the same for the weekend with hail and rain in the outlook.

Snow was recorded down to 700m in Victoria, including on Mount Macedon, just an hour north-west of Melbourne.

Many might think this is not the time to be on the coast but in some ways it is the best place to be.  In my opinion there is nowhere better to sit by the fire and watch the storms go by.

Last week I made reference to Aireysistible, an evening in support of refugees.  A sold out crowd of 150 people attended, raising a record $8,500.  Congratulations to all involved.

With less than a month of Love Winter in Aireys remaining, festival goers are invited to step into the realm of an immersive enchanted forest this weekend to discover fireflies in the bushland surrounding Aireys Primary School.
