Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

The town is saddened by the recent passing of a much loved member of the community. Ted Lithgow passed away last week after a hard fought battle with cancer.

For over 6 years Ted held the important position of lollipop man (or school crossing supervisor to be correct) at the school crossing. Every day, rain, hail or shine Ted was there to greet the kids and escort them safely across the Great Ocean Road to school and back.

Ted was a long time resident of the area and always amused the children (and parents) with his humour and sharp wit. He was also a huge supporter of the Aireys Inlet Eels and gave loyal support to all the boys and girls who played.

A community memorial service will be held today at 3pm at the Fairhaven Surf Club. Vale Ted.

In real estate news, we are happy to report a couple of properties are under negotiation with an off market sale in Fairhaven contracted this week.

Keep your eyes peeled for an off market listing in Moggs Creek. An interesting mud brick house, close to the beach with ocean views.
