Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

Whilst we are all aware of the fact that we are currently under Stage 3 restrictions due to the COVID 19 virus, the coast seems quite busy. Even more so than one would expect for school holidays.

It seems that many holiday houses are being occupied by their owners in an effort to escape the city. This has led some doctors and local councillors to push for state and territory governments to consider closing off rural shires to protect them from coronavirus.

Aireys Inlet was highlighted in a piece on ABC news this week as a holiday destination people are still travelling to. Everyone will have an opinion on this, and if I lived in Melbourne and had a house along the Great Ocean Road, I sure know where I would rather be!

As expected real estate sales and listings are pretty stagnant but we do have a number of off market properties available for sale so please reach out if you are serious about buying but can’t see what you want on the real estate portals.

There were good waves along the coast both Monday and Tuesday and it did seem that surfers were a little more spread out in the line-up as they waited for the sets. I wonder how long will it be before they try and ban surfing here as has already happened in some parts of Europe?

Stay safe, stay apart but stay together!
