Our Backyard – Aireys Inlet

We have had a number of people this week confused as to whether they are able to come from Melbourne to view properties for sale on the Great Ocean Road.

To be fair, the messages have been a little mixed with even reports of people being turned away at certain checkpoints by police.

The REIV updated all members last night as to the recent updates, and without boring you with all the information, what was relevant from our point of view for those in regional Victoria was in summary, as follows:

People are allowed to travel from a restricted area for a private inspection of a residential property. They should be required to wear a face mask and ensure that they do not undertake any other activity during their visit.
There have been reports of some ‘buyers’ from restricted areas arranging inspections of coastal and country properties as a way of having a weekend away.

Therefore, buyers are allowed to travel down here to attend a private inspection of a residential property for sale or rent, however they are not meant to visit cafes or restaurants during their stay.
We have some great listings just released and more to come so please contact us to arrange a private inspection if interested. It may be a good idea to seek confirmation by email and to print off a copy in case you are questioned at any checkpoints.

Or if you are interested in viewing a property but are not able to in person, get in touch and we can organise an online inspection via video (eg Zoom etc).

Stay safe.
